A baseline study
Grids are an important tool for the communication of complex coherences to organize information that follow hierarchical structures. In books or magazines, they are crucial for drawing attention to print products. The thesis analyses diverse options of finding the perfect proportion to ensure harmony and balance. The emphasis on optimal proportions contributes to a better understanding of the structure of books and the specific roles of its separate elements on each page. Grids bring forth the elegance of the page layout following an intrinsically balanced proportion within the print space. To provide a deeper understanding, a selection of conventional rules and principles is illustrated.
